Duke’s Beach House honors staff at Princess Nahi‘ena‘ena Elementary School

KAANAPALI – Duke’s Beach House recently recognized Brian Stoneburner, Donna Keanini, Julia Wagner and Theresa Marzan of Princess Nahi’ena’ena Elementary School as Educators of the Month.
Stoneburner, head custodian, was awarded the August Educator of the Month Award. He was nominated for taking pride in his work and for always keeping safety a priority. He is acknowledged for his reliability and for regularly going out of his way to help others.
September Educator Award winner Keanini is a front office clerk at Princess Nahi’ena’ena Elementary School. Keanini was nominated by her peers for being friendly, approachable and going beyond her duties to assist others. She is described as a welcoming presence in the school office.
Wagner, a Special Education teacher and department chair, was recognized for her dedication, knowledge and compassionate nature. Wagner believes in her students and always puts them first. She is respected by her students, colleagues and community.
November winner Marzan is a fifth grade teacher. Marzan is described as an excellent teacher who is dedicated to helping her students learn and succeed. She contributes positively to the school climate, works well with her colleagues and, most importantly, supports her students.
“We are so proud to be able to acknowledge the great work that the staff at Princess are providing for the children in West Maui,” said Josh Fukagawa, Duke’s Beach House manager. “Education is so important, and through our Legacy of Aloha Program, we are able to acknowledge and support the outstanding teachers in our community.”
Each award winner was presented with an engraved koa box and a $100 gift certificate to Duke’s Beach House.
