Japengo partnering with MauiWine for its September Maui Tastemakers Series
KAANAPALI – Every Friday in September, Japengo restaurant at the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa is partnering with MauiWine to celebrate their shared passion for using fresh and locally grown products.
Nestled on the southern slopes of Haleakala volcano, Maui’s only winery has grown distinctly flavored wines since 1974.
Experience a memorable dinner with a selection of MauiWine estate vintages, pineapple and blended wines alongside Japengo’s flavorful three courses prepared by Chefs Gevin Utrillo and Jin Hosono.
The September Japengo and MauiWine $80 set menu features:
- Marinated Hiramasa with Roasted Nori, featuring marinated hiramasa, roasted nori, wasabi-flavored Japanese mountain yam, uni, ikura, picked plum and ogo, paired with Ulupalakua Vineyards Rose 2016;
- Lavender-Seasoned Oven Roasted Rack of Lamb & Kauai Shrimp, featuring Ali’i Kula Lavender seasoning and shiso-Thai basil chimichurri tomato mascarpone polenta, paired with Ulupalakua Vineyards Syrah 2013;
- Banana Butter Mochi Lumpia, featuring haupia drizzle and Kona coffee chocolate ganache calamansi macerated berries, paired with Rose Ranch “Lokelani” Sparkling Rose.
Japengo is open nightly with dinner and sushi bar service from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., lounge service from 5 to 10 p.m., and Happy Hour from 5 to 6 p.m.
