West Maui Rotary Clubs join forces to collect school supplies for needy children

LAHAINA – Prior to the opening of the 2017-18 school year on Aug. 7, members of three West Maui Rotary Clubs will man collection tables at the entrances to places of business to collect school supplies and funds for the children of Maui.
Collected supplies and funds will be taken to schools for children in need at Princess Nahi’ena’ena Elementary, King Kamehameha III Elementary, Lahaina Intermediate and Hana schools.
The collection sites will be at the following locations: Saturday, July 29, Lahaina Cannery Mall entrance near Longs Drugs, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Rotary Club of Lahaina; Saturday, Aug. 5, Office Max/Office Depot, Lahaina Gateway, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunrise; and Saturday, Aug. 5, Lahaina Cannery Mall entrance near Longs, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunset.
According to Assistant District Governor Marti Wukelic, “This is the tenth consecutive year of the Rotary-sponsored school supplies drives. Members of the three Rotary Clubs of West Maui are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children in need.”
This island-wide School Supplies Drive is one of the many community service projects sponsored by the Rotary Clubs on Maui and Lanai.

Rotary is a leadership organization made up of local business, professional and civic leaders. The members meet regularly, get to know each other, form friendships and get things done in the community.
