Maui Grown Therapies to host public open house

By Staff | Apr 13, 2017

KAHULUI – If you’ve ever wondered what a medical cannabis dispensary looks like, you can see for yourself at a public house event hosted by Maui Grown Therapies. Adults, 21 years of age and over, may visit Maui’s first dispensary at 44 Pa’a St. in the Maui Lani Village Center in Kahului from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 22.

“Once we open for sales later this summer, only registered patients will be allowed to enter the dispensary,” said Teri Freitas Gorman, director of community relations and patient affairs. “So this is a rare opportunity to welcome everyone to come and see for themselves what we’re planning for Maui’s medical cannabis patients. We encourage folks to sign up at our website to get notices about educational events in the coming weeks.”

Maui Grown Therapies staff will be available to answer questions about how Hawaii’s medical cannabis program works, which conditions and symptoms qualify, and what interested patients, caregivers and family members should know about cannabis therapy.

Due to state regulations, no person under the age of 21 may enter a dispensary, and photo or video recording of the dispensary interior is prohibited. Cell phone use will not be allowed inside. Parking and all facilities are ADA-accessible. For more information, call (808) 866-7576.
