By Staff | Mar 30, 2017

Boarders at Lahainaluna High School asked professionals questions about their jobs at a recent career night.

LAHAINA – On Feb. 28, community members from different professions visited Lahainaluna High School’s Hale Pa’ina to conduct a career night with Lahainaluna boarders.

Presenters discussed their background in their profession and how they achieved their goals in their desired fields.

After a brief welcome from Acting Principal Daniel Espaniola, each professional gave a short introduction about themselves and what they do. They were then able to field questions from students and had a chance to do a sit-down “talk story” session.

Event organizers thanked Espaniola; alumni Lynn Kaho’ohalahala, Nani Dapitan-Haake, Leonore Amano, Abner Nakihei Jr., Ray Shimabuku, Nalani Kalama-Kaikala, Tay Soares, Mark Palakiko, Alfred Ayers, Michael Casicas and Brittany Treu; and Tanya Takitani-Apo, Chad Ferguson, Mahea Recopuerto and Officer Stuart Farberow for volunteering their time, and Hoapili Dorm Attendant Sheldene Hozaki, Cafeteria Manager John Alexander and Farm Manager Alan Yamamoto for their support and assistance.
