Mama’s Ribs ‘N Rotisserie welcomes Samuel ‘Wela’ Espiritu as head chef and food and beverage manager
NAPILI – Mama’s Ribs ‘N Rotisserie last week announced the appointment of Samuel “Wela” Espiritu as head chef and food and beverage manager of the West Maui restaurant.
Chef Espiritu brings his extensive knowledge of island culture and his exceptional culinary background to Mama’s Ribs ‘N Rotisserie.
Before accepting this position, Espiritu was the sous chef at Montage Kapalua Bay.
Born and raised on Maui, Espiritu learned to cook from his grandmother at the age of ten. His culinary experience includes a strong commitment to quality.
He has a passion for food and an understanding of both Pacific Rim and local cuisine.
As Wela likes to say, “I’m not a chef – I’m just hungry!”
Founded in 1999 and located in Napili Plaza Shopping Center, Mama’s Ribs ‘N Rotisserie is a family run Maui business serving fresh rotisserie chicken and baby back pork ribs, as well as homemade salads, sandwiches, daily specials and desserts.
