LAHAINA – On Tuesday, Nov. 29, Polly Angelakis, the chief of interpretation for Haleakala National Park, will speak at the Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunset’s evening meeting.

This year marks the centennial of Haleakala National Park, which is home to species that exist nowhere else on Earth. Angelakis, who has served as chief of interpretation since 2012, will discuss the park’s rich history of supporting Native Hawaiian stories, sites and traditions.

The Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunset’s community speaker series takes place during club meetings, which are held on the first, third and fifth Tuesday of the month at the Royal Ocean Terrace Restaurant, Royal Lahaina Resort, Kaanapali. Meetings run from 5 to 6:30 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
