Wes Lo to take helm of Hale Makua Health Services
KAHULUI – After an extensive search, the Board of Directors of Hale Makua Health Services recently appointed a new chief executive officer. Effective Dec. 1, 2016, Wes Lo will take the helm of the organization, succeeding retiring CEO Tony Krieg.
Donna McCleary, MD, Hale Makua Health Services board chair, said, “Wes Lo has a proven track record of experience and accomplishment in the continuum of healthcare on Maui. He is well-known on the local and state level, and well-versed in the healthcare environment, making him the perfect fit for the organization.”
Lo comes to Hale Makua Health Services with 13 years of experience leading Hawaii Health Care Systems (HHSC), Maui Region, most recently as its chief executive officer.
During his tenure Lo oversaw the completion of Maui Memorial Medical Center’s new cardiovascular wing and new Kahului Tower, in addition to being instrumental in transitioning Maui County hospitals to Kaiser Permanente.
Lo said, “I am excited to have been selected and to have the opportunity to work with the dedicated employees and Board of Directors at Hale Makua Health Services. I know many of them, and as healthcare professionals and community members with a passion about the health of our community, we are brethren. I have always admired what Tony (Krieg) has created at Hale Makua and am honored to continue his legacy.”
