Hyatt Regency Maui celebrates newly renovated meeting and event spaces
KAANAPALI – The Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa recently celebrated the opening of its refreshed meeting and event spaces and new Regency Club with a traditional Hawaiian blessing.
The blessing honored the enhanced Monarchy Ballroom, updated outdoor Halona Kai Event Lawn overlooking the Pacific Ocean and new Regency Club.
The meeting and event spaces feature Maui-inspired designs and features that improve lighting and air quality and reduce energy usage.
The refreshed Regency Club has been relocated to the lobby level for easy accessibility and now offers a larger outdoor terrace with ocean views and the resort’s Oriental Gardens.
Hyatt Regency Maui, a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) EBOM (Existing Buildings: Operations and Maintenance) certified resort, unveiled the transformed spaces following the renovation that began earlier this year.
“We’re eager to reveal our newly enhanced spaces at Hyatt Regency Maui following the traditional Hawaiian blessing,” said Allan Farwell, general manager of the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa.
“In addition to providing the local community with one of Maui’s newest destinations for social gathering and events, we look forward to welcoming new and returning guests to the resort and providing them with a modern Hawaiian experience complete with beautiful meeting and event spaces.”
The Halona Kai Event Lawn features a synthetic lawn entertaining space ringed with lush greenery and local flora. The event space surrounded by a peaceful koi pond allows for presentations or wedding ceremonies without additional equipment. Additionally, the area has been updated with state-of-the-art acoustic and audio/visual systems and wired with 200-amp outlets and data and television cabling, creating seamless technology connectivity.
The enhanced Monarchy Ballroom has been transformed into a sophisticated and contemporary room that reflects the history and culture of Maui. Included in this renovation is coated glass to minimize ultraviolet and infrared light while maintaining the amount of natural light transmitted. Indoor air quality has been improved with modern automation controls. Meeting rooms have occupancy lighting sensors, and lighting was replaced with LED fixtures, reducing wattage and electricity usage by approximately 65 percent.
The refreshed Regency Club Lounge offers guests a comfortable and spacious lounge, easy beach access, as well as lanai seating with views of the Pacific Ocean and the resort’s Oriental Gardens that feature wildlife, waterfalls and Swan Lagoon.
The Regency Club Lounge is flooded with natural light and appointed with comfortable lounge seating that nods to Maui’s long history of beautiful, handcrafted furnishings. The Regency Club offers daily complimentary continental breakfast, daily local and national newspapers, light snacks and refreshments throughout the day, and light hors d’oeuvres and Hawaiian-inspired desserts in the evenings.
