Sheraton Maui Resort welcomes new Executive Sous Chef Christopher Lederer
KAANAPALI – The Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa recently welcomed new Executive Sous Chef Christopher Lederer.
He will work alongside Executive Chef Greg Gaspar and Executive Sous Chef Les Barayuga in culinary operations for Sheraton Maui’s multiple dining establishments, focusing primarily on the resort’s restaurant Black Rock Kitchen, which serves breakfast and dinner daily.
Chef Lederer was born and raised on Oahu and has been cooking in high-end restaurants since the age of 17. He brings a passion for Pacific Rim and Hawaii regional cuisine to his new role and is an advocate for utilizing locally sourced products whenever possible.
“I love to make a personal connection through food by cooking dishes that make people happy; making the connection is always my focus,” said Chef Lederer.
He joins the Sheraton Maui team from his most recent position at Trump International Hotel Waikiki, where he worked as sous chef. He has also worked at Trump International Golf Links and Hotel in Ireland, Roy’s Waikiki and Roy’s Hawaii Kai.
“Chef Chris has tremendous experience working in notable Hawaii restaurants. We know that he will enhance our resort’s culinary offerings through his thoughtful and imaginative approach to cuisine,” said Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa General Manager Tetsuji Yamazaki.
