KAHULUI – Island Honda was recently named to the 2016 list of the “100 Best Dealerships to Work For” by Automotive News.

Employing 66 local residents in sales, service and support, the Maui Honda dealership is part of Fortune 500 Lithia (NYSE: LAD), one of the nation’s largest automotive retailers.

In addition to Island Honda, six more Lithia stores made the list for 2016.

“Throughout the organization, we believe the pursuit of Earning Customers for Life, our core value, starts with engaged employees who are not only professionally fulfilled but also have fun at work,” explained Lithia Motors President and CEO Bryan DeBoer.

“Creating a culture that earns a prestigious title such as this doesn’t happen by chance. A great workplace with happy employees is just one of our goals. We want to thank General Manager James Woods and his team for their dedication and desire to constantly improve,” DeBoer added.

Earlier this year, Fortune Magazine named Lithia one of the top ten fastest growing companies among the largest U.S. public corporations for a second year in a row.

“Lithia believes the numerous career paths and opportunities it provides will position us as a leader in the automotive sector, further growing and attracting top talent,” Woods noted.

“It’s remarkable one of the nation’s ‘100 Best Dealerships to Work For’ is located right in this community. We’re grateful. Our team members are our most important asset and will continue to be the single biggest driver in our ability to achieve future success,” Woods said.
