Rotary club to host talk on sustainable living initiatives

LAHAINA – On Tuesday, Sept. 6, the Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunset invites the public to a talk by Nicolette van der Lee, the interim coordinator for the Sustainable Living Institute of Maui at the University of Hawaii Maui College.

Van der Lee will discuss the history of sustainability initiatives at UH Maui College and introduce the courses available at the Sustainable Living Institute. The institute offers industry-recognized training and noncredit educational programs with a focus on agriculture, energy and natural resource conservation.

The club’s community speaker series takes place during club meetings on the first, third and fifth Tuesday of the month at Royal Ocean Terrace Restaurant at the Royal Lahaina Resort, Kaanapali, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
