Jason Purcell named director of tennis at Kapalua Golf & Tennis Club

A student of U.S. Open quarterfinalist Andrew Pattison, Jason Purcell (above) was a four-year scholarship athlete and two-time team captain at Northern Arizona University. Throughout his professional career, he has been fortunate to be mentored by many world-class coaches and has trained/played with several Grand Slam champions and finalists.

KAPALUA – Kapalua Golf & Tennis Club and Troon last week announced that Jason Purcell has been named the new director of tennis at the Kapalua Tennis Garden, an award-winning facility set in the beautiful landscape of Kapalua Resort.

Prior to arriving at Kapalua, Purcell served as the academy director and head tennis professional at The Phoenician Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona from May 2012 through May 2016. During his tenure, he managed a staff of seven tennis professionals.

He won several industry honors and recently received the 2015 USTA National Outstanding Facility of the Year Award, which is awarded to the facility that best exemplifies service to the community and to its members through youth and adult tennis programs.

Purcell holds several professional certifications and has more than 25 years of coaching and program development experience at high-performance tennis programs, country clubs and luxury resorts.
