Located at 900 Front St. in The Outlets of Maui, Pi Artisan Pizzeria has stunning ocean views for dining, tables inside with a view of the kitchen and wood-fired oven to watch the artistry of pizza-making, a full-bar producing hand-crafted cocktails and table seating on the mall-side patio.

LAHAINA – Pi Artisan Pizzeria at The Outlets of Maui has been operating under new ownership since April 18, 2016.

Rather than rushing to announce the change in management, the new owners, Stuart and Deborah Katz, chose to spend time working with the team to assess where change and improvements were needed.

Within the first couple of weeks, the menu was updated to reflect the original concept of Pi Artisan Pizzeria.

Taking full advantage of the 800-degree Italian kiawe wood-fired double-oven and the hand-crafted pizza dough, the pizza offerings include the familiar Pi Classics, Pi Signatures and the Build Your Own with a choice from almost 50 ingredients.

On June 21, after two months of new ownership, Pi Artisan Pizzeria hosted the “Embrace an Artisan Summer” event to celebrate the start of summer.

House-made sausage, meatballs, sauces and mozzarella not only satisfy the taste palette, but they are also a feast for the eyes with the artistry of food presentation.

The event was designed to emphasize the artisan motif with live music by Gary Larson on guitar, a painting demonstration by watercolor artist Rich Kinney, face painting for keiki and the young at heart by Cirque Jolie and a large coloring mural for children.

A formal program from 6:30 to 7 p.m. provided a welcome to those in attendance, introduced the management team and concluded with a Hawaiian blessing to celebrate the start of summer by Brother Francis Koahau.

According to the couple, one of the most satisfying aspects of being new owners is being able to spend time with customers and listen to their experience.

Encouraged by all the feedback, the owners know they have a lot of work ahead, and they are excited to keep Pi Artisan Pizzeria special with its local farm-to-oven-to-table concept.

Handcrafted cocktails incorporating local herbs, local brews on tap served at 30 degrees, and embracing the trend for quality wines on tap all contribute to the sophisticated artisan concept.

The Pi + Club is the newly launched loyalty program that rewards frequent guests. For approximately every $200 of food and beverage purchased, a Pi + Club member would receive a $25 credit toward a future purchase. Membership also provides early invitation to events such as the Artisan Summer Celebration and special offers.
