Sunset Rotary Club inducts new member
LAHAINA – The Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunset has welcomed Denise Tjarks as its newest member.
Tjarks moved to Maui from Iowa in April 2015. She is the owner of Thinkbug LLC, an independent consulting firm. She was previously the chief operating officer at Bioforge Labs.
In addition to her private small business consulting and her work for Bioforge Labs, she was also a project manager for a broad range of businesses and industries, including Wells Fargo Capital Markets, where she served as senior project manager on five separate projects within the capital markets group.
Tjarks has a Master of Business Administration Degree from Upper Iowa University and has taught at Kaplan as an adjunct professor.
“I look forward to becoming a part of this organization that is committed to enhancing our community through environmental initiatives such as the recycling program here on the West Side,” she said. “I’m also joining to participate in the ongoing international quest to eradicate polio throughout the world.”
Jim Fahnestock and Melissa Crawley served as Tjarks’ membership sponsors.
The Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunset is a volunteer service organization of community leaders. The club meets on the first, third and fifth Tuesday of each month at the Royal Lahaina Resort in Kaanapali. Guests are welcome.
