Hyatt Regency Maui enhances environmental initiatives with Sustainability Tour
KAANAPALI – After becoming Hawaii’s first LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) EBOM (Existing Buildings: Operations and Maintenance) Silver resort in 2014 following significant sustainability upgrades, the resort continues to implement programs.
These include the addition of Hawaii’s largest hotel photovoltaic solar panel system and a sustainability tour for guests to learn about environmental initiatives onsite.
The self-guided tour features eight signs around the property to educate guests, visitors and associates of the sustainability efforts that are made in relation to food and food waste, water, materials and recycling, renewable energy and energy efficiency, ocean and landscape, indoor air quality, and green cleaning.
The tour begins in the Atrium Lobby. For more information, visit www.maui.hyatt.com/sustainability.
