Philipps joins clinical staff of Malama I Ke Ola Health Center
LAHAINA – The Community Clinic of Maui Inc. dba Malama I Ke Ola Health Center recently welcomed Allison Philipps to its clinical staff. She will serve as the main practitioner at the Lahaina satellite clinic located at 15 Ipu ‘Aumakua Lane up the road from the Lahaina Aquatic Center.
As a native of Wisconsin, the sun, sand and surf that Maui offers is intriguing for this Midwesterner. She has been a registered nurse (RN) for 19 years and an Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP) for 11 years.
Her nursing career began as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), then she completed technical college as an Associate Degree Nurse (ADN). She received her Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Nursing and eventually a Master’s of Science in Nursing from Viterbo University in LaCrosse, WI.
Her work experience spans a variety of settings: long-term care facilities, intensive care in the hospital setting, as well as primary care in the clinic setting.
She noted on her clinical experience, “The most common theme has been the overwhelming need for people to receive compassionate, quality and affordable health care. I approach each patient as an individual with unique challenges and goals. Developing a treatment plan in collaboration with the patient, their support network and the clinic staff, I feel will result in better health outcomes and satisfaction for all. I am enthusiastic about the opportunity to care for the members of the Maui Community Clinic and honored to be working with the employees of Malama I Ke Ola Health Center. The groundwork of all happiness is health.”
Malama I Ke Ola Health Center at 15 Ipu ‘Aumakua Lane is open Monday through Friday from 7:45 a.m. to 5 p.m., except on Tuesday when hours are 9:40 a.m. to 5 p.m. The clinic closes for lunch daily from noon to 1:20 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome; appointments can be made by calling 872-4000.
