Hyatt Regency Maui to celebrate World Penguin Day

By Staff | Apr 21, 2016

World Penguin Day festivities include a special penguin feeding, penguin cookie decorating and photo opportunities with the resort’s penguin mascot.

KAANAPALI – Following its successful Penguin Awareness Day events in January, the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa last week announced the return of its popular penguin activities to celebrate World Penguin Day on Monday, April 25, at 9:30 a.m. in the Atrium Lobby.

Activities include a special penguin feeding, penguin cookie decorating, and keepsake photos with the resort’s penguin mascot.

Guests are invited to learn more about these charismatic creatures and watch as the resort’s seven playful penguins eat, swim and waddle around.

This free event is open to all locals and guests who wish to celebrate and take part in fun family activities that honor one of the world’s most interesting creatures.

Guests staying overnight on April 24 will receive Wildlife Turndowns with a stuffed penguin, and an information card notifying guests about the penguins and inviting them to a special penguin feeding on April 25 for World Penguin Day.

The Hyatt Regency Maui is the only resort in Hawaii with an onsite penguin habitat. Guests can join the fun by following and sharing their penguin photos at #PenguinInParadise.
