Ira Ono to discuss art and business

Lahaina Arts Society is featuring paintings by Christina DeHoff in the Banyan Tree Gallery through May 3.

LAHAINA – Lahaina Arts Society will host “The Business of Art” with Ira Ono on Saturday, April 9, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at The Wharf Cinema Center.

His workshop covers every aspect of what it takes to be a successful artist in Hawaii. Topics include pricing your product for profit; creating a competitive edge for foolproof presentations to buyers at galleries, gift shops and department stores; creating multiples for increased sales; Internet marketing; and presentation for wholesale, retail and fine art gallery sales.

The cost is $75 ($60 for LAS members). To register, call LAS at 661-0111.

In related news, paintings by Christina DeHoff will be featured in Lahaina Arts Society’s Banyan Tree Gallery in the Old Lahaina Courthouse through May 3.

There will be a reception to meet the artist and view her art on Friday, April 8, from 6 to 8 p.m.
