By Staff | Feb 25, 2016

KAANAPALI – The Maui Sales Complex for Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc. recently announced the promotion of Ashley Carroll to account director for group sales.

In her new position, she will oversee group sales efforts in the Midwest USA region for Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa as well as The Westin Maui Resort & Spa.

Carroll will report to Mike Masterson, who is the sales leader for the Maui Sales Complex.

“Ashley possesses many of the qualities and skills you look for in a salesperson, and she applies those skills effectively each and every day to the benefit of her customers and our Maui resorts,” said Stan Hershenow, regional director of group sales for Starwood Hotels & Resorts (Hawaii). “Her personality and expertise aligns well with her new market, Midwest USA, and I know our customers in this region will enjoy working with her.”

In 2013, Carroll joined the company as a group sales manager. Within her three years of service, she not only exceeded her annual goals but was also recognized by Starwood Hotels & Resorts (North America) as a Global Incentive Trip winner for her remarkable achievements. She was named a winning finalist under the company’s Group Sales Manager of the Year category in 2013 and 2015.

Carroll graduated with a degree in Marine Biology and Microbiology from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo. She then joined the merchant marines for a research expedition through the South Pacific; she fell in love with Maui during her voyage in 1999 and decided to make the captivating island her home.

She is an advocate, member and volunteer of local youth and environmental programs. In May 2012, she received an honorary “Ka Ipu Kukui” fellowship from the University of Hawaii. A month later, she was honored by the South Bay California Surf League for her contributions towards women’s surfing, including her championship league wins in 1993-94 and her noble efforts in teaching surfing to at-risk youths. She has also been a recurring presenter for the Hawaii Green Business program.

Ashley is married to Scott Carroll, who is the general manager of King Kamehameha & Kahili Golf Club. They reside in Napili with their two young daughters.
