Cocount Condos donates to local non-profits
LAHAINA – Coconut Condos recently donated material valued at over $10,000 to Habitat for Humanity Maui, Women Helping Women and Salvation Army.
The Lahaina-based property management company’s partners had recently gone through a furniture and bedding upgrade in many of their Aina Nalu, Lahaina Shores and Puamana properties.
“We sincerely appreciate that Coconut Condos is committed to making a positive difference in our community,” stated Max Tornai, community relations director for Habitat for Humanity Maui.
“Not only do Angela and Michael Leone (owners of Coconut Condos) make regular generous monetary donations to help us build more safe and affordable housing on Maui, but they also saw a win-win opportunity to support local non-profits while undertaking this extensive upgrade to their properties.”
Habitat for Humanity Maui relied on both volunteers and staff to transport the large volume of goods to where they were needed.
“We are thankful to be able to donate all the items to local community charities and families in need, and at the same time keep all of these items out of our landfills,” reported Michele Heile, project manager for Coconut Condos.
Owner Angela Leone added, “Here at Coconut Condos, we believe that as a small business, it is not only our responsibility but our privilege to give back to our community. Our business provides housing for vacationers, so it made sense for us to give back in housing for our local ‘ohana, which is why we partnered with Habitat for Humanity Maui. It was a great feeling to be a part of this project, especially during the holiday season. We want to thank all of our owners who allowed us to donate their items and our staff who helped make this project a total success.”
