Ben Hongo of Kapalua Golf named to Hawaii’s best teachers list
KAPALUA – Kapalua Golf Courses announced that Ben Hongo, lead teaching instructor for the Kapalua Golf Academy, was recently ranked second in Hawaii’s “The Best Teachers In Your State (2015-2016)” in Golf Digest’s annual peer ranking.
In addition, former Kapalua Golf Academy instructors Claude Brousseau and Gregory Fields made the list at #3 and #4, respectively.
Hongo has been part of the Kapalua team since 1989, when he made the move across the Pacific Ocean from San Luis Obispo, California. He has become one of the most respected golf instructors in Hawaii.
He is the recipient of the Aloha Section’s PGA Teacher of the Year, Junior Leader of the Year and other honors.
Hongo likes to focus on solid fundamentals and uses his vast experience to help players develop their game.
