Sheraton manager earns Certified Meeting Professional credential

KAANAPALI – The Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa announced that Maureen Stubbs, meeting and events manager for the resort, recently earned the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) credential.
According to the Convention Industry Council, the CMP credential is recognized internationally as the badge of excellence in the meeting, convention, exhibition and event industry.
Qualifications for certification include professional experience, education and a rigorous exam.
“Receiving the CMP credential is an outstanding accomplishment,” said Toni Rojas, CMP, director of meetings and events for the resort. “Maureen’s extensive experience in the meeting and events industry coupled with this certification make her a great asset to the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa team.”
Stubbs joined the Sheraton Maui as meeting and events manager in December 2014. She previously served as conference manager at the Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego, California. She has also worked as events manager with New Evolution Ventures in San Diego and GreekBill in Los Angeles.
Stubbs earned her Event Management Certification at The University of San Diego and a Bachelor’s Degree in Justice, Law and Society at American University. n
