The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua to host wellness event
KAPALUA – The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua is partnering with fitness experts to host “E Malama Kou Kino… Care for Your Body” on Sept. 25-27.
Visitors and the local community are invited to take part in this four-day experience to help balance mind, body and spirit through fitness workshops led by leading health and wellness practitioners.
The luxury destination resort has partnered with Kelly LeVeque, Jenn Glysson, Tina Vindum, David Clawson, Phil Levi, Larry and Okasana Ostrovsky, Claudia Micco and Carl Powell to develop a diverse schedule geared toward all levels of fitness.
Kumu Ramsay R.M. Taum is partnering with Clifford Nae’ole, the resort’s cultural advisor, to infuse elements of Hawaiian healing with traditional blessings, while naturalists from Jean-Michel Cousteau’s Ambassadors of the Environment will be on-hand for nature hikes, tours of the resort’s organic gardens and more.
Dr. Richard Murphy of Jean-Michel Cousteau’s Ocean Futures Society will also conduct a one-of-a-kind presentation and snorkel excursion.
“E Malama Kou Kino” workout sessions and seminars are complimentary unless otherwise noted on the event schedule for overnight guests of The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua, outside guests and the local community.

On Friday, Sept. 25, the event starts with “E ala E” Ceremonies at Honokahua Beach (D.T. Fleming Beach) from 5:45 to 6:45 a.m. Join cultural practitioners for an invigorating ceremony guaranteed to rejuvenate your body and spirit. Chants are offered by all to the rising sun. Attendees should bring swimwear and towels. Photography is prohibited.
Friday’s lineup includes “STACC – Stronger than a Cup of Coffee,” a circuit-based class with David Clawson and Phil Levi, from 7 to 8 a.m. on the Beach House Lawn; Pilates Mat Work with Carl Powell on the Makai Lawn from 8 to 8:30 a.m.; E Ola Pono “Live Well,” a presentation on traditional medicinal uses found among native trees, plants and herbs, in the lobby from 8 to 9 a.m.; Outdoor Fitness with Tina Vindum on the Terrace Lawn from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.; “Ho’oponopono… Creating balance in your life and others” with Kumu Ramsay Taum in Ballroom 1 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.; “Sleep – The Key Pillar To Optimal Health” with Larry and Oksana Ostrovsky in Ballroom 2 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.; and “Eat Well, Be Well plus Garden Tour with Chef” with Kelly LeVeque in Ballroom 1 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
On Saturday, Sept. 26, events include “Bro’ga Sesh – Yoga for the Bros” with David Clawson and Phil Levi on the Beach House Lawn from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m.; Energy Flow Yoga with Claudia Micco on the Terrace Lawn from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m.; Beach Bootcamp with Jenn Glysson on the Makai Lawn from 8 to 8:30 a.m.; Outdoor Fitness with Tina Vindum from 8:30 to 9 a.m. on the Terrace Lawn; Water Alive Presentation and Snorkel with Dr. Richard Murphy from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; “Brain Optimization Made Easy, Part 1 of 2” with Larry and Oksana Ostrovsky in Ballroom 1 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.; “7 Magnificent Life Lessons” with Carl Powell in Ballroom 2 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.; and Full Moon Yoga with Claudia Micco and Carl Powell on the Terrace Lawn from 7 to 8 p.m.
