Course covers reef-friendly landscaping methods
KAHULUI – The University of Hawaii Maui College’s Sustainable Living Institute of Maui will offer the course “Reef-Friendly Shoreline Innovations” from Sept. 24 to Oct. 22.
This professional development opportunity will cover the latest in watershed stewardship, landscape design, low-impact design, irrigation and plant selection strategies from the recently published Hawaii Hotel Reef Stewardship Guide.
Shoreline facilities, such as resorts, golf courses and condominiums, will learn to employ cutting-edge techniques and new approaches to protect Maui’s fragile coral reef systems.
Learn the latest in visitor engagement strategies and how to market your property’s efforts to protect Hawaii’s coral reefs.
Training will take place at the Hyatt Regency Maui in Kaanapali on Thursdays from Sept. 24 to Oct. 22 from 2 to 4:30 p.m.
