Maui’s newest Rotary Club is going green with new logo and St. Patrick’s Day fundraiser

By Staff | Feb 19, 2015

LAHAINA – The new Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunset will host “Go For The Green,” a fundraising dinner and golf outing, at the Royal Lahaina Resort on March 14. Residents and visitors are invited to participate. Proceeds will foster community recycling in West Maui and the club’s other community service programs.

The event will kick off with Mad Maui Bagpiper Roger McKinley at 1:30 p.m. for a nine-hole shotgun scramble golf outing on the Royal Kaanapali Course, followed by a festive St. Patrick’s celebration at Royal Lahaina from 6:30 to 10 p.m. The evening celebration will include no-host bar, dinner, dancing to the music of Fred’s Garage and a silent auction. Attendees may purchase golf tickets for $125 per person, which includes dinner, or dinner for $75 per person. Discounts are available for dinner tables of eight with or without golf.

Renee Ward, chairperson of the Rotary event, noted that “Go For The Green” ties together the three key elements of the event.

“It’s a St. Patrick’s Day party, it includes a golf outing, and the proceeds will help the Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunset foster community recycling programs in West Maui. It’s green times three,” said Ward.

“March 14th will be a day for people who love to feel a bit Irish for a day, love golf, and love to do something for the environment.”

Tickets are available online at www.eventjoy.com/e/go-for-the-green-893657. For information on the event and sponsorships, or to donate silent auction items, call club Co-president Liz May at 5A Rent-A-Space at 669-5200.
