KAANAPALI – Hyatt Vacation Ownership, an operating business of Interval Leisure Group, last week Wednesday celebrated the formal blessing and opening ceremony of the new Hyatt Kaanapali Beach, a Hyatt Residence Club Resort.

Overlooking one of Maui’s most sought-after beaches, the 131-unit property officially opened its doors on Dec. 12, joining 15 other luxury shared ownership resorts marketed and managed by Hyatt Vacation Ownership (HVO).

The project is a joint venture with an affiliate of Host Hotels & Resorts, Inc.

Resort features include spacious one-, two- and three-bedroom residential-style accommodations with breathtaking ocean views and vistas of the West Maui Mountains; expansive lanais; fully equipped gourmet kitchens and handcrafted dining tables; widescreen, high-definition LED televisions; 8,000-square-foot open-air lobby; beachfront Pau Huaka’i tiki bar; Lahaina Provision Company gourmet marketplace; lagoon pool with zero-entry children’s area; infinity pool; Day Lounge relaxation areas with TVs, Wi-Fi, showers and lockers; and 3,000-square-foot state-of-the-art fitness center.

The property has seamless access to the adjacent Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa and its array of services and amenities, including restaurants, bars and lounges, pools, oceanfront spa, full-service salon, Kaanapali golf courses, and boutique shops and galleries.

Sustainability features have been designed to meet LEED certification requirements, including a solar thermal-assisted hot water system, high-efficiency air conditioning units with an energy management system, and low-flow kitchen and bath fixtures.

Hyatt Vacation Ownership has been developing, marketing and managing shared ownership resorts in diverse vacation destinations since 1994.

Headquartered in St. Petersburg, Florida, HVO operates Hyatt Residence Club, a flexible points-based program with more than 30,000 members who have access to 16 HRC resorts along with hundreds of Hyatt hotels and resorts worldwide via the Hyatt Gold Passport guest loyalty program.

HVO is an operating business of Interval Leisure Group Inc. (ILG), a leading global provider of non-traditional lodging, encompassing a portfolio of travel, leisure, membership, exchange, resort management and rental businesses.

ILG and its subsidiaries independently own and manage the Hyatt Residence Club program and use the Hyatt Vacation Ownership name and other Hyatt marks under license from affiliates of Hyatt Hotels Corporation.
