Sheraton Maui announces two staff appointments
KAANAPALI – The Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa last week announced the appointments of Toni Rojas as director of catering and event management, and Carol Schwarz as director of front office.
In this role, Rojas will oversee the resort’s catering and event services, including weddings and meetings.
“We are thrilled to welcome Toni to the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa,” said Susan Havens, director of sales and marketing for the resort.
“Toni’s knowledge and leadership in the Hawaii meeting market will raise the bar of the meeting and events team to new heights.”
Rojas most recently owned and operated The Sterling Performance Group, a full-service boutique sales, marketing, meeting management and event production company specializing in the Hawaii marketplace.
Rojas has also served as director of sales for the Maui Visitors Bureau/ Hawaii Visitors and Conventions Bureau as well as in the Catering and Convention Services Departments for Prince Resorts Hawaii, Maui Intecontinental Resort and Kapalua Bay Hotel and Villas.
She has also held the globally recognized Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation since 1998.
As director of front office, Schwarz will oversee Guest Services operations, including the front desk, telephone operators and front services.
“Carol brings a wealth of hospitality experience to her new role at the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa,” said Brian Hunnings, executive assistant manager of the resort.
Schwarz previously served as the director of hotel operations at the Downtown Grand hotel & casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Prior to that post, Schwarz served as hotel manager for the Palms Place Hotel Condo and Spa. She has held several leadership positions at The Four Seasons Hotels in Las Vegas and Newport Beach, California.
