Sheraton Maui Resort announces appointments

KAANAPALI – The Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa recently welcomed Brian Hunnings as executive assistant manager and promoted Sean Ganhinhin to director of property operations.
Hunnings will assist General Manager Tetsuji Yamazaki in administering and managing the resort’s operations, maintaining cost and quality standards, and driving profit for the organization.
“We are thrilled to welcome Brian to the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa,” said Yamazaki. “Brian’s proven leadership, extensive hospitality industry experience, creativity and passion will drive the success of the management team to new heights.”
Hunnings joined Starwood Hotels and Resorts in 2008 and has since held numerous leadership roles, including area director of food and beverage for Hawaii and French Polynesia, director of food and beverage for Sheraton Waikiki, and director of food and beverage for Moana Surfrider, a Westin Resort & Spa.
In his new role, Ganhinhin will lead the teams in charge of housekeeping, maintenance, public areas and capital projects, as well as oversee subcontracted services of laundry, night cleaning and landscaping services for the Sheraton Maui.

“Sean has been a great asset to the Sheraton Maui Resort and Spa,” said Yamazaki. “Over the past year-and-a-half, Sean has shown great leadership of his team, and we are pleased to promote him to director of property operations. Sean’s strong leadership skills will drive the success of the property operations team to exceed our guests’ expectations.”
Previously, Ganhinhin served as director of front office at the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa. He began his career with Starwood in 2009 and has since served in several leadership roles at The Westin Maui Resort & Spa, including director of front office, service express manager, and guest relations manager.
