Hyatt Regency Maui turns pink for October

By Staff | Oct 23, 2014

KAANAPALI – The Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa is turning pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a variety of events and specials to benefit Susan G. Komen Hawaii.

Throughout October, the AAA Four Diamond Resort will feature pink food and drink specials, opportunities for guests to donate to the cause, and the resort’s first-ever paddle event on Saturday, Oct. 25, all to benefit Susan G. Komen Hawaii’s mission of supporting and promoting collaborations among Hawaii’s healthcare providers and organizations, and enabling implementation of culturally sensitive education, screening and treatment programs.

The Hyatt Regency Maui’s Pink October month will culminate in the resort’s inaugural Maui Paddle for a Cure. Presented in partnership with The Butterfly Effect and presenting sponsor Maui Jim, Maui Paddle for a Cure will take place starting at Hanakao’o Beach Park (Canoe Beach) on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Maui locals and resort guests 18 years and older are invited to an open paddle by stand up paddle board, kayak or canoe from Canoe Beach to Whalers Village and back (approximately two miles), all to benefit this important cause.

An exclusive after party and silent auction at Sunset Terrace at the Hyatt will feature gourmet food and drink specials, as well as a performance by Hawaii-based singer and musician Anuhea.

Participation in the paddle event includes a pink rash guard for the first 200 paddlers, a goodie bag of surprises, admission to the after party and the chance to win a door prize. After party-only tickets can be purchased for $25 per person. Admission is limited to 500 attendees, and guests 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
