Job Fair for Persons with Disabilities set
WAILUKU – Ka Lima O Maui, a nonprofit organization that specializes in helping adults with disabilities with job skills training and employment services, will hold its third annual Job Fair for Persons with Disabilities on Tuesday, Oct. 28, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Velma McWayne Santos Community Center.
The job fair is open to all persons with disabilities, many of whom will be entering the workforce for the first time. There is no cost to attend and no cost for businesses to have a table.
Employers planning to participate include 24 Hour Fitness, Aflac, Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., Da Kine Detail, Da Kitchen Cafe, Dazoo, ‘Enehana Computer Services, Fernando’s Mexican Grill, Habitat for Humanity, HC&S, The Home Depot, Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa, Krispy Kreme, Lowe’s, Macy’s, Maui Electric, Maui Windows & Doors, Minit Stop, Oceanic Time Warner, Old Navy, Roy’s Kaanapali, Sack N Save, Sears, Starbucks, TSA, Wailea Beach Marriott Resort & Spa, Walgreens, Westin Maui Resort and Spa and Whole Foods Market. All disability service providers and their clients are encouraged to attend.
The job fair is held in honor of National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM), an annual awareness campaign that takes place each October. For more information on the job fair, call 244-5502.
