Center hosts business workshops
KAHULUI – The county Mayor’s Office of Economic Development coordinates business workshops at the Maui County Business Resource Center in Maui Mall across from Pizza Hut.
Seating for all workshops is limited, and all workshops are subject to change or cancellation. To register, call 873-8247. Workshops are free unless otherwise noted.
“The Social Side of Retirement Seminar” with Gretchen G. Voxland will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 21, from noon to 1 p.m. Are you thinking about retiring soon? Would you like to learn how to maximize the most of your Social Security benefits in your retirement? Did you know that there are hundreds of ways to file for your Social Security benefits? Voxland has been teaching the University of Hawaii Maui College’s “Complete Financial Workshop” for the last ten years.
“Ten Things to Ask Yourself Before You Begin Branding Your Business” with Nico Fisher is set for Wednesday, Oct. 22, from noon to 1:15 p.m., followed by 15 minutes to take questions.

“The ABC’s of a Business Plan” with Craig Swift will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 29, from noon to 1 p.m. Swift, director of the MEO Business Development Center, will discuss the reasons for writing a business plan. He has more than 35 years of experience in owning, managing and lending to small businesses. Participants will receive an outline of the business plan taught by MEO’s “Core Four” Business Plan Course.
“Quickbooks for Small Business” with CPA Richard Kehoe will be held on Thursday, Oct. 16, from 5 to 8 p.m. The cost is $45 per session.
