County center hosts free business workshops
WAILUKU – The county Mayor’s Office of Economic Development coordinates workshops at the Maui County Business Resource Center in Maui Mall across from Pizza Hut.
Seating for all workshops is limited, and all workshops are subject to change or cancellation. To reserve a seat, call the center at 873-8247. Workshops are free unless otherwise noted.
“Sixty Ways to Grow Your E-mail List!” with Mckenna Hallett will be held on Friday, Sept. 12, from noon to 12:45 p.m. According to Hallett, e-mail is 40 times more effective at acquiring customers than Facebook and Twitter combined, and it is still the best option for growing a business in a cost-effective manner.
“How to Increase Facebook Reach & Engagement” with Nico Fisher will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 17, from noon to 1:15 p.m., followed by 15 minutes to take questions. Learn how to use a Facebook checklist with steps to position your brand online and make a cohesive social media presence across all social media. You will learn how to get more “likes,” “shares” and comments by posting time frames. In addition, marketing campaigns, branding, online presence and meaningful message will be discussed.
“Quickbooks for Small Business” with CPA Richard Kehoe will be held on Thursday, Sept. 25, from 5 to 8 p.m. The fee is $45 per session. This class for new users will teach you how to record sales, receive payments, prepare invoices and balance your checkbook. Get customized answers and schedule a follow-up appointment at no cost.
