Coconut Condos presents donation to Habitat for Humanity Maui

LAHAINA – “Here at Coconut Condos, we believe that as a small business, it is not only our responsibility but our privilege to give back to our community,” said owner Angela Leone.
Leone was inspired by the story of Blake Mycoskie of TOMS footwear and his One for One campaign – a powerful business model calling small businesses everywhere to give back to their community.
“Our business provides housing for vacationers, so it made sense for us to give back in housing for our local ‘ohana. If every small business gave back just one percent of profits to the community, that could really change the world. Not just in a small way, but hugely. That’s why we’ve partnered with Habitat for Humanity,” she said.
On Monday, June 9, the Coconut Condos team was excited to present Habitat for Humanity Maui with a $1,000 donation for 2014.
Coconut Condos also encourages guests in their vacation rentals to get plugged in and volunteer locally on Maui while visiting the islands. Many families are interested in giving back to the communities that they visit.
“We cater to families, and many parents are interested in teaching their children to serve others, and we’re just providing them with the information to do so,” Leone said.
