KAANAPALI – During a recent Henry Kapono performance, Duke’s Beach House presented Autism Bridges Maui with a donation of $2,121 as part of its Legacy of Aloha program.

Autism Bridges Maui is a nonprofit organization that provides support and educational opportunities to individuals with autism and their families.

A portion of the proceeds from Duke’s Tasting Menu during the months of January, February and March were donated through the restaurant’s Legacy of Aloha program.

“Autism Bridges Maui provides needed support and resources for families in our community, and we are so happy to be able to help their efforts,” said Duke’s Beach House General Manager Shaughn Helliar.

“Through the Duke’s Beach House Legacy of Aloha program, we are able to support great local organizations like Autism Bridges Maui.”

The Legacy of Aloha program was created in the spirit of Duke Kahanamoku’s concern for others and his belief in the power of aloha.

The primary focus is to support locally based organizations with causes that support the local community, such as combating hunger, preserving natural resources, perpetuating Hawaiian culture and assisting families and keiki.

Autism Bridges Maui is a child- and family-centered grassroots organization that supports a wide array of services that develop the full potential and improve the quality of life for individuals with autism, pervasive developmental disorders and neurological developmental disorders through their life span.
