KAHULUI – Queen Ka’ahumanu Center last week announced that national retailer Zumiez will open a store at the center this fall.

The location will be the first in the Neighbor Islands for the retailer of action sports-related apparel, footwear, equipment and accessories for young men and women.

“Zumiez is a great compliment to our expanding family of name-brand retailers,” said Todd A. Vines, marketing manager for Queen Ka’ahumanu Center.

“We have a natural audience for action sports styles on Maui, and we’re proud Zumiez selected Queen Ka’ahumanu Center for its first Hawaii location outside of Oahu.”

Zumiez is a leading multi-channel specialty retailer of action sports-related apparel, footwear, equipment and accessories, focusing on skateboarding, snowboarding, surfing, motocross and BMX for young men and women.

As of March 1, 2014, the company has 512 stores in the United States, 28 in Canada and 12 in Europe. It operates under the name Zumiez and Blue Tomato.
