LAHAINA – Island Spirit Yoga recently celebrated nine years of serving the Lahaina yoga community on the West Side.

The studio provides a tranquil atmosphere to enjoy more than 25 yoga classes seven days a week.

In addition to yoga classes ranging from beginner to advanced, Island Spirit Yoga offers Nia dance and is the Maui Academy of Performing Arts center for children’s dance.

Island Spirit Yoga has been voted “Best Yoga Studio” on Maui in 2010 and 2012 (runner-up in 2013).

Business owners Deborah DiPierro and Christy Abelov are passionate about sharing the physical, mental and spiritual benefits of yoga.

Certified instructors merge Eastern traditions with contemporary intelligence and provide diverse styles and levels of yoga.

Island Spirit Yoga also features a boutique that offers island-made clothing and jewelry, yoga accessories and unique gift items.

The studio hosts transformation workshops and events, with proceeds often contributed to many community charities and local organizations.

Beginning Nov. 8, Island Spirit Yoga will host “NIA Night” from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in coordination with Lahaina’s Second Friday Town Party.

This donation-only inaugural event will continue monthly, with proceeds benefitting community charities. Following the class, attendees are invited to meet at a local restaurant to continue the “Dance of Life.” All are invited!

Island Spirit Yoga provides a supportive space and heart-centered ambiance with authentic aloha from the instructors and staff.
