Minit Stop opening soon in Lahaina

Under construction at 10 Kupuohi St. in Lahaina, Minit Stop is hiring cashiers, cooks and food preparation employees.

LAHAINA – It’s been over 30 years since Minit Stop opened their first location on Dairy Road, and this November, they’ll celebrate the much-anticipated opening of their 16th location at 10 Kupuohi St. in Lahaina.

“We’re pleased to be expanding our network of convenience and fueling stations into West Maui. In addition to our in-store convenience offerings, Minit Stop will cater to both residential and commercial customers with non-ethanol and marine diesel, as well as highway and off-road diesel, and bio-fuels,” said Jon Miyabuchi, general manager of Minit Stop Holdings LLC.

Minit Stop is best known for its famous Maui Fried Chicken, made with a signature blend of herbs and spices, deep fried to a crispy golden brown. A wide selection of plate lunches, breakfast and deli sandwiches, and a variety of mixed bento are just a sampling of the items prepared fresh daily, made onsite and packaged for the “grab-n-go” convenience shopper.

Along with creating a pleasant and friendly shopping experience, Minit Stop is focused on finding the right mix of employees to serve West Maui customers.

“We’re a neighborhood store. We see the same customers every week – sometimes every day! We get to know them, and they get to know us. It’s fun working in a place where your customers are also your friends,” said Naomi Guro, Lahaina Store manager.

“Another great reason to shop at Minit Stop is our customer loyalty program, Minit Stop Rewards. Members save five cents on every gallon of fuel purchased, and when paying cash, receive three additional points per gallon. That’s like earning eight cents a gallon. The savings really add up!”

Part of Minit Stop’s core values is balance between work, family and community. They recognize that most of their employees are continuing their education or raising families. Flexible scheduling is one of the ways that they allow their staff to balance these responsibilities.

Minit Stop is currently accepting applications for cashiers, cooks and food preparation. They offer a competitive wage, profit sharing, and 401K, with medical, dental, vision, vacation and paid holidays.

Applications are available at any Minit Stop location or can be downloaded from www.minitstop.com. Completed applications can be faxed to (808) 873-6048 or e-mailed to hr@minitstop.com.

Minit Stop is a locally based, locally operated member of Saltchuk Resources Inc. (Seattle, WA). Founded in 1978, today Minit Stop has 16 locations: ten on Maui and six on the Big Island.
