Fleetwood’s donates $11,160 to Make-A-Wish Foundation of Hawaii
LAHAINA – Fleetwood’s On Front St. recently donated $11,160 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Hawaii.
The fundraiser was conducted through the restaurant’s “Gift Of Life” appetizer program, in which a local charity is selected to benefit.
Executive Chef Eric Morrissette created a special “Gift Of Life Appetizer” each day.
“The servers and hosts would talk to their guests all about the foundation and the appetizer; when a guest ordered the appetizer, 100 percent of the proceeds went to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Hawaii,” explained Meghan C. Hanrahan, project manager.
“The average cost for a wish in Hawaii is $10,000, so we made that our goal. We had two months to make it happen. The whole staff got involved – we talked about it every day in pre-shift and kept them updated on their progress in this goal. Our guests were so excited to be a part of such an incredible cause and sometimes bought multiple appetizers, just so they could donate more!
“With everyone’s passion and dedication, we came together to raise a grand total of $11,160! It was absolutely incredible! Mick (Fleetwood) presented the check on a night he was playing at the restaurant and gave the staff and our guests a huge thanks,” she concluded.
