Sheraton Maui integrates Vino-Barista Wine Preservation System

Vino-Barista International’s wine preservation system opens and pours wine by the glass in a 100 percent oxygen-free environment, preserving the wine and completely preventing oxidation. The company’s four-bottle system is pictured.

KAANAPALI – Vino-Barista International Co. Ltd. announced that the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa is the first major resort in the U.S. to integrate the Vino-Barista Wine Preservation System within their property.

The new system will allow the resort to revolutionize the way wine is offered by the glass to guests.

The Vino-Barista is a state-of-the-art wine preservation system developed in Japan in 2002. It holds an 80 percent share of the Japanese market and is the only system in the world that allows for a bottle of wine to be opened and poured without exposing the wine to oxygen at any time throughout the process, thereby completely preventing oxidation.

“We are privileged and excited to be the first resort property in the U.S. to own and operate the Vino-Barista system,” stated Brandon J. Maeda, director of food and beverage for the Sheraton Maui. “The system affords us the advantage of serving top-tier wines by the glass to our guests that we would not otherwise have the opportunity to offer,” continued Maeda, “which allows us to greatly exceed guest expectations and elevate their food and beverage experience to a degree that was previously not possible.”

Vino-Barista International is expanding to the continental U.S. in the fall of 2013, targeting both the commercial and private residential markets.
