Hula Grill celebrates 19th anniversary with donations to non-profits
KAANAPALI – In celebration of its 19th anniversary, Hula Grill Kaanapali recently donated over $11,500 to five local nonprofit organizations as part of the restaurant’s Legacy of Aloha program, which supports local and national organizations through a Chef’s Tasting Menu, special events and employee donations.
Beneficiaries included the Lahainaluna High School Foundation, Future Farmers of America, Habitat for Humanity Maui, Hawaiian Islands Land Trust, and the National Marine Sanctuary Foundation.
“Nineteen years is an incredible achievement; one we wouldn’t have been able to attain without the love, support and aloha from the Maui community,” said General Manager Orrin Cross. “Our Legacy of Aloha program is just one way we can demonstrate our appreciation and give back to the island we call home.”
The Lahainaluna High School Foundation, which provides resources and opportunities to the LHS community, received a check for $1,000.
Future Farmers of America, an organization that aims to prepare future generations for the challenges of feeding a growing population, received $5,032.
Habitat for Humanity Maui received $2,000 to help the organization achieve its vision of eliminating homelessness on Maui.
Hawaiian Islands Land Trust received $2,000 to continue its efforts to work with private landowners, community groups, community leaders and government partners to protect Hawaii’s precious places
The National Marine Sanctuary Foundation was presented with $1,549 to continue education and outreach programs designed to preserve, protect and promote meaningful opportunities for public interaction with the nation’s marine sanctuaries.
