By Staff | Jul 18, 2013

KAHULUI – Learn how you can get started on a healthier lifestyle at the 16th annual First Hawaiian Bank Maui PrimeTime Wellness Fair.

The bank sponsors this annual event as a community service to Maui residents and visitors.

The fair will be held on Tuesday, July 23, at the Binhi At Ani Filipino Community Center at 780 Onehee Avenue in Kahului.

The opening ceremony begins at 8:15 a.m., and the event will run from 8:30 a.m. until noon. Admission is free and open to the public.

Forty-six exhibitor booths will provide the latest information to help you make informed choices about a healthy lifestyle.

There will be free health screenings for glucose and cholesterol and blood pressure, nutritional and medication management screenings.

For more accurate readings of glucose and cholesterol, it is recommended that attendees fast for a minimum of eight hours prior to their screening.

The Maui County Office on Aging will demonstrate EnhanceFitness, a low-cost, highly adaptable exercise program designed especially for older adults of all ability levels.

The one-hour classes include stretching, strengthening exercises and low-impact aerobics to increase a person’s flexibility and balance.

Enjoy door prizes and games throughout the fair, as well as live entertainment with Pennies from Heaven, a senior ukulele group, and the Kaunoa Southside Kupuna Hula Group.

The grand prize drawing will be for a $200 gas gift card courtesy of Mid Pac Petroleum and 76.

To help prevent identity theft, Access Information Management will shred for free up to two bankers’ boxes of confidential documents per person.

Along with First Hawaiian Bank, the Maui PrimeTime Wellness Fair is cosponsored by the Maui County Office on Aging, ADRC Hawaii and Clinical Laboratories of Hawaii LLP.
