WAIKAPU – Office of Hawaiian Affairs (OHA) Maui Trustee Carmen Hulu Lindsey will report on new developments and initiatives at OHA at a Maui Native Hawaiian Chamber of Commerce meeting on Tuesday, April 9, from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

This dinner meeting at Maui Tropical Plantation is open to the public. Dinner is $20.

Every other month, the chamber invites leaders from government, business and public service agencies to address the Maui business community on important issues affecting Maui.

Trustee Lindsey will discuss recent OHA decisions and how they affect beneficiaries of OHA grants and services.

The Maui Native Hawaiian Chamber’s mission is “to promote and sustain our Hawaiian culture, nurturing a strong community of Hawaiian values and to enhance opportunities for success in business and education.”

Membership is open to business people of all ethnicities who desire to practice Hawaiian values, including kindness, cooperation, hospitality, sharing, respect for elders, and duty to sky, land and sea.

Bimonthly casual “talk story” gatherings encourage mentoring and sharing business strategies in a congenial setting.

Register by Friday, April 5, to President Kai Pelayo at 874-2426 or Kai.Pelayo@grandwailea.com. Visit www.mauinativechamber.com for information on the group.
