LAHAINA – Jerry King, PGA, was recently honored as the “Rookie of the Year” for TaylorMade Golf and received the Rising Star Award for 2012.

Out of 57 sales representatives across the U.S., King received this award for top sales performance in his markets of Hawaii, Guam and Saipan.

“The numbers Jerry delivered in his first full year as a sales representative for TaylorMade are second to none. It is a very demanding job that requires a certain mindset, and Jerry filled that expectation to the fullest. I only see a bright future for Jerry at TaylorMade for years to come,” said Jeff Parsons, Western Regional sales manager for TaylorMade Golf.

In addition to his duties at TaylorMade-Adidas Golf, he oversees Jerry King Golf, a teaching, coaching and comprehensive golf instruction company.

He was also recently renamed as a Golf Magazine “Top 100 Teacher” for 2013-14.

King is a five-time recipient of the Aloha Section PGA “Teacher of the Year” Award, 2010 President’s Plaque, “Golf Professional of the Year” and a two-time recipient of the Horton Smith Award for contributing to the growth of fellow PGA professionals and apprentices.

King is also on the board of directors for the Hawaii State Junior Golf Association and runs several charity golf events throughout Hawaii.
