KFC’s Lahaina restaurant closes after 30-plus years
LAHAINA – KFC Hawaii closed its Lahaina restaurant at Old Lahaina Center on Jan. 13.
Kazi Foods of Hawaii, the franchise that operates both KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken) Hawaii and Burger King Hawaii, reached the end of its lease agreement and decided not to renew.
All 15 full-time and part-time employees, including managers, cashiers and cooking staff, will have the option to relocate to KFC in Kahului.
“We’d like to give a big mahalo to all of our wonderful customers for their tremendous support and patronage over the years,” said Marife Arconado, KFC Lahaina general manager.
“We can’t thank all of our dedicated employees enough for all their hard work and commitment.”
Kazi Foods plans to concentrate its efforts on strengthening its higher-traffic restaurants throughout the state. Recently, Kazi Foods also closed its Kihei restaurant.
Any vouchers for the Lahaina restaurant can be redeemed at any other KFC Hawaii restaurant.
