Thanks for supporting Lions’ Slipper Drive

West Maui Lions Club members deliver slippers to Kula Kaiapuni o Moloka‘i and Kualapu‘u Elementary School on Molokai.
LAHAINA – On behalf of the West Maui Lions Club, we would like to thank the community and organizations for your support during our fourth annual Back To School Slipper Drive.
There were 501 slippers collected, including monetary donations. We couldn’t have been successful without your support, and it is greatly appreciated!
Lions Jennifer Moscovich and Roberta Kamakawiwoo organized the dropoff of 400 slippers and distributed them to both King Kamehameha III Elementary and Princess Nahi’ena’ena Elementary School.
Lion Lisa Puaa, along with her family and friends, transported 100 pairs of slippers to Kula Kaiapuni o Moloka’i and Kualapu’u schools on Molokai.
Thanks to all of you who contributed, especially to our Mainland Lions and supporters for mailing slippers to make sure they arrived on time for distribution. West Maui Lions, “You ROAR!”
West Maui Lions Club will have a Car Wash Fundraiser at First Hawaiian Bank on Aug. 25 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Bring cars, trucks and vans in support of the Lions; also, monetary donations are welcomed and greatly appreciated.
We are still receiving letters and calls in support of scholarships and other students in need from shelters, so we want to make sure they receive the support necessary by Sept. 1.
