WAILUKU – The Maui Memorial Medical Center Foundation Board of Directors last week announced the appointment of Lisa Varde as executive director effective May 1.

She succeeds Ululani “Lani” Correa, who will retire on April 30.

Varde has served as the foundation’s development specialist since January 2011. She is a certified fundraising executive with over 15 years of experience in nonprofit fund development.

Before joining MMMC Foundation, she was the director of development for the Maui Arts & Cultural Center.

Sarajean Tokunaga, MMMC Foundation board president, said, ” Lisa’s fundraising expertise, leadership and passion – and the strong working relationships she has established within the hospital and community at large – will ensure the foundation’s growth as we move forward in this exciting time for our hospital and the community it serves.”

Tokunaga also expressed the board’s gratitude for Correa’s “heartfelt, tireless work” and many accomplishments during her tenure.

Maui Memorial Medical Center Foundation is a private, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to supporting MMMC in its mission, development and provision of medical care.
