Join Thieman, interim executive director of Lokahi Pacific, as she discusses all the options available at the Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Pono Center in Wailuku.

“The Business of Art” with Ira Ono will be held on Friday, April 20. Understand every aspect of what it takes to be a successful artist in Hawaii.

Topics that will be discussed in the workshop include pricing your product for profit, focus on galleries and gift shops, trade show visual merchandising, affordable display techniques, foolproof presentations, and Internet marketing.

In addition, information will be presented about the difference between being a sole proprietor, partnerships, S- Corps and C-Corps, and how disability and life insurance play a role in good business planning, making sure families and employees are provided for in the case of a hardship and keeping the business healthy. Terms such as “Keyman Insurance” and “Buy Sell Agreements” will be discussed.
