KAANAPALI – The Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa has appointed Nate Hardesty its new director of sales and marketing.

With more than ten years of experience with the Hyatt Hotels and Resorts brand, Hardesty brings an extensive hospitality background to Hawaii.

Prior to joining the team at the Hyatt Regency Maui, he was the director of sales and marketing for three years at the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort, Spa and Casino.

“Coming off of the property’s recent multimillion dollar renovation, we’re excited to have Nate aboard to help promote the resort and showcase the upgraded guest rooms; new dining destination, Japengo; and our transformed lobby arrival experience,” said Michael Jokovich, the hotel’s general manager.

A graduate from Northern Illinois University, Hardesty began his career with Hyatt Hotels and Resorts in 2001 at the Hyatt Regency Indianapolis as a corporate management trainee.

Following his three-year stay in Indianapolis, Hardesty became the sales manager at Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego, where he cultivated his sales and marketing skills.

Next, he served as the associate director of sales at Hyatt Regency O’Hare. By 2007, Hardesty was promoted to the director of sales and marketing at Grand Hyatt Denver, where he led his sales and marketing team for two years.

“I’m excited to be joining such a vibrant and passionate group at Hyatt Regency Maui,” said Hardesty.

“I look forward to working with this team to focus our efforts on developing marketing and sales strategies to help increase group and leisure business and leverage the resort’s authentic Hawaiian hospitality.”
