Center hosts business workshops

KAHULUI – The Maui County Business Resource Center at Maui Mall hosts free workshops.

The brown bag lunch workshops are slated for noon to 1 p.m. To register, call 873-8247.

“Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Pono Center – How can it help your small business?” with Susie Thieman is slated for Tuesday, Jan. 17.

Whether you need a training room, a conference room, an office to meet clients or a commercial kitchen to prepare your food products, Lokahi Pacific’s Pono Center has it all for you.

Join Thieman, interim executive director of Lokahi Pacific, as she discusses all the options available at the Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Pono Center in Wailuku.

“Kick Start the New Year – Brainstorming for 2012” with Mike Kern is set for Wednesday, Jan. 18.

Are you stuck? Do you need ideas and/or solutions for your business? Come and participate in 15-minute brainstorming sessions led by Kern. If you would like to discuss financial strategies specifically for your business, Kern is available every Tuesday afternoon at the Maui County Business Resource Center from 1 to 3 p.m.

“Appreciative Marketing: Ten ways to keep your clients coming back for more products and services” with Dr. Robert Santry will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 24.

This presentation demonstrates the use of appreciative marketing in saying thank you to your clients for their business and keeping your clients happy. The ultimate goal is to make sure that they keep coming back for more products and services. Reach out and touch someone in appreciation and be assured of a loyal customer.

“Doing Business with the Government as a Subcontractor” with Evette Lau is set for Tuesday, Jan. 31.

Every product or service acquired by the government is done through a bidding process. Lau of Maui Economic Opportunity will lead this instructional workshop and introduce participants to the process of successful government contracting.

She will also provide information on registration and technical assistance to small businesses interested in federal, state and local procurement.

In addition, “QuickBooks for Small Business” with Richard Kehoe, CPA, will be held on Thursday, Jan. 26, from 5 to 8 p.m. The fee is $45.
